As part of this year’s School of Art and Media Research and Knowledge Exchange Festival, I’m delighted to invite you to a private view of a new exhibition showcasing work by practice-based research students across the School. This is the first exhibition of its kind at the festival, proposed to complement the R&KE symposium by highlighting the rich, diverse outputs that emerge through practice. Last year, I co-organised a smaller exhibition with another PhD student, and it felt like the right moment to expand the opportunity to include more voices and practices.
I have the pleasure of coordinating this exhibition, but it’s very much a joint effort. The realisation of this exhibition has depended on the collaboration between researchers — from curatorial writing and poster design to installation. Their insight and effort have been central to the process. The exhibition is also supported by the brilliant and responsive staff in the School, who helped us with realising it in a rather tight deadline.
