Mechanics of Becoming

Taking inherited photographic darkroom equipment as its case study and its co-creator, the artist is trying to understand their own role in its context. From fossilised time on its very parts that now subtly come to light, to historic archival materials and techniques placed to highlight the conception of such machine, prints here serve as an attempt to redirect the focus to nonhuman agency that guides the process. The body of the operator is remediated so that it fits the function of the machine. This encounter inevitably results in the emergence of forms always new, turning it into a process of becoming.
